Altium Announces New TASKING Embedded Debugger
San Diego, Calif. – May 9, 2017 - Today, Altium® announced the release of the Embedded Debugger for their TASKING® line of products. With the TASKING Embedded Debugger, users can remain focused on the task at hand, maintain coding momentum, and work seamlessly on projects at their most efficient pace.
Due to the high cost of high-end debugger solutions, users are often limited to the number of licenses available at any given time. As a result, a queue of users will accumulate while many only require a limited subset of the functionality offered by high-end solutions to continue with their work. This results in lost time and a loss of coding momentum that can take even more time to get back. For this reason, we developed a streamlined debugger that developers can use independently from the compiler to eliminate bottlenecks.
The standalone TASKING Embedded Debugger provides an inexpensive solution that covers all functionality needed for common debugging tasks. With more access to these common debugging features, users can save time, maintain coding momentum, and complete projects with utmost proficiency.
“TASKING Embedded Debugger is the ideal solution for identifying issues in logic and correcting coding errors early on, especially when lots of coding is happening in a given project,” said Frank Krämer, Director, TASKING Business Development at Altium. “For the price of a single high-end debugger, organizations can provide developers with several streamlined debuggers to minimize interruptions and keep coding efficient and effective.”
Low-Cost, Easy-to-Use Debugging
TASKING Embedded Debugger can easily be mass-deployed into existing Eclipse environments. Alternatively, it offers an intuitive Eclipse-based GUI that enables the user to download executable code for the target and control program execution. The standalone debugger provides all common tools and functions, including the ability to evaluate expressions, single step through both source code and disassembled code, set and configure breakpoints, and inspect and modify registers and memory.
Providing support for Infineon TriCore™ and AURIX™ devices, the TASKING Embedded Debugger offers low-cost probes and simulators as well as remote debugging for time-sharing among multiple developers.
Tangible Benefits at an Affordable Price
The low cost of the TASKING Embedded Debugger allows for more developers to have access to a debugger during main development phases, which means developers can quickly analyze and verify code functions without interrupting their workflow.
