TASKING Division of Altium achieves Automotive SPICE Level 2 Certification
San Diego, Calif. – March 15, 2017 - Altium has been recognized with Automotive SPICE® (Software Process Improvement and Capability Determination) Level 2 certification for their TASKING VX Compiler Toolset. This achievement signifies the standard of product development process that TASKING applies to provide quality, reliable products and continues the commitment to customers to help them produce high quality results in safety-related projects.
The Automotive SPICE® Process Assessment Model has been developed under the Automotive SPICE® initiative by consensus of the car manufacturers within the Automotive Special Interest Group (SIG), a joint special interest group of The Procurement Forum and The SPICE User Group. The members of the Automotive Special Interest Group include AUDI AG, BMW Group, Daimler AG, Fiat Auto S.p.A., Ford Werke GmbH, Jaguar, Land Rover, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Volkswagen AG and Volvo Car Corporation. The Automotive SPICE® Process Assessment Model is used to perform conformant assessments of the software process capability of automotive suppliers.
The TASKING team has set up their software development processes in accordance with Automotive SPICE. Automotive SPICE® Level 2 certification is only awarded to projects that demonstrate the development process quality required as the quality basis to ensure the safety and reliability of modern automotive systems. Companies must undergo a rigorous assessment to assure that common process requirements are met to be recognized with certification. This accreditation further substantiates the capabilities and proficiency that TASKING provides for safe and reliable automotive solutions.
“Our partnership with TASKING has a successful history in jointly addressing our automotive and industrial customers,” said Peter Schaefer, Vice President and General Manager Microcontrollers at Infineon Technologies. “The successful Automotive SPICE audit is an important step for TASKING to continue offering robust solutions for the global automotive and industrial market.”
